"He started as a physicist, born in 1925, and rose rapidly in the ranks...."
Wow, that's pretty prodigous, being born with a physics degree.
- Good point.. why don't you re-word it so it makes more sense? Rogerd 22:04, 1 May 2005 (UTC)

"Unknown Ribbon"
[edit]Could that unknown ribbon he's wearing in the lowest precedence position be the Greek Order of the Phoenix? Jim (talk) 23:58, 9 October 2013 (UTC)
This ribbon could be any number of things, it is identical to both the Oregon and Mississippi National Guard meritorious ribbons, but I can't think of why Lew Allen would have been awarded either of those. Most likely it is from his time at West Point and is the New York National Humane Service Medal Ribbon, thought that ribbon has slightly larger blue bars. Perhaps Gen Allen did some work in New York while at West Point to alleviate a humane suffering condition. However, that's just a guess. It also could have been a locally manufactured ribbon that never made it into national policy. 198.97.67.51 (talk) 12:18, 23 April 2019 (UTC)
External link to interview on nuclear policy?
[edit]Would an interview with Lew Allen from 1987 be useful here as an external link? Focus of conversation is nuclear weapons policy. http://openvault.wgbh.org/catalog/V_54E5D301BB3A489999370C9A8F65C006 (I helped with the site, so it would be conflict of interest for me to just add it.)
