Vurbank train robbery

[edit]

The Burbank Train Robbery (and hidden treasure) is mentioned in the crime section. I'm not sure it's legit. See http://wesclark.com/burbank/train_robbery.html - BTW, the Burbank Historical Society knows nothing about a Burbank Train Robbery... Jonah Begone (talk) 15:20, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I removed the sections about the Burbank Train Robbery and the supposed hidden gold treasure. I did some research and I'm convinced that it was actually a Sun Valley Train Robbery. See http://wesclark.com/burbank/train_robbery.html (scroll to bottom). Jonah Begone (talk) 14:30, 20 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unsourced material in need of sourcing

[edit]

I'm moving the following unsourced list of notable residents from the article here until it can be properly sourced per WP:V/WP:NOR, etc. I have also removed the completely unsourced paragraphs on Amelia Earhart and Jim Jeffries, as Earhart was not a resident, and Jeffries was already on the list. There's no reason for these two people to have entire paragraphs, and the rest of the notables not to, and if the material on Earhart's flights from Burbank is accurate, it can be added elsewhere in the article, and with sources. A section on residents isn't it. Nightscream (talk) 07:06, 22 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cartoon Network Studios building, old bakery?

[edit]

Anyone remember the name of the wholesale bakery in the old brick building that Cartoon Network Studios took over in 1999? --Scalhotrod - Just your average banjo playing, drag racing, cowboy... (talk) 21:57, 5 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

"estimated" population as of 2010?

[edit]

Why does it say "estimated"? Isn't it the "official" population per the 2010 census? Someone please explain... Famartin (talk) 05:44, 24 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Merger proposal

[edit]

It would make sense to me if Burbank Police Department (California) was merged into this page. The article on the Police Department doesn't have anything in it to show why that particular department is independently notable, and any of the actual useful data (the current police chief, the areas it serves, etc) could easily fit in here, once some sources are found to support the data. I can personally see no real reason to have a separate article, and feel that a merger would be a pretty good solution. Rorshacma (talk) 17:14, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I think this is a good idea, it doesn't make much sense for such a small article to exist when it can add more to the larger, more general article. Grammarxxx (talk) 18:06, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting Suggestion

[edit]

Perhaps you could consider splitting off Early History and some of City of Burbank into History of Burbank, California and leave only a small History section with a

{{main|Burbank History}}

box?

Similarly, Burbank Mayors Should probably be split off into Mayors of Burbank, California with a similar tag? Korlus (talk)

Notice

[edit]

An edit was reverted here recently adding to the lede a translation in Cyrillic script of the city's name into Armenian. As the editor that made that edit added similar content to numerous US settlement articles, discussion of these edits has been centralized at Talk:Watertown, Massachusetts#Town's name to be translated or transliterated in other languages. You are encouraged to comment there. John from Idegon (talk) 00:48, 15 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ronald Reagan lived in the Rancho District?

[edit]

I removed the reference to Ronald Reagan having once lived in the Rancho District of town. I can find no support for this, and the official list of residences listed on the Reagan Library site (https://reaganlibrary.gov/sreference/ronald-reagan-s-residences) doesn't include a location there. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 151.207.250.41 (talk) 16:29, 12 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Photo request

If anyone happens to be downtown it would be wonderful to get new photos the National Historic Landmark downtown Burbank post office at 135 E. Olive Ave. Burbank, California 91502, especially a fresh portrait of the building and photos of the New Deal-era post office murals inside. TIA! jengod (talk) 14:39, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
