To my knowledge there is no community or suburb named "Miramar" in San Diego, Mira Mesa coming the closest. I think the article is more accurate refering to Miramar as the plateau on which MCAS Miramar and Mira Mesa sit. Rsduhamel 22:51, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Miramar refers to the business district south of Carroll Canyon, between I-15 and I-805. Very few residences are there. It also includes MCAS Miramar.

Miramar was originally named for a small cluster of buildings along a railroad siding. The original Miramar no long exists, as it is in the current boundaries of MCAS Miramar.

Strictly speaking, the plateau that includes Mira Mesa, Miramar, and the Kearney Mesa communities are all located on "Kearney Mesa" (as recognized by the U.S. Board of Geographical Names). Miramar is no more a place name than Mira Mesa. Dananderson 22:37, 4 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]
