[edit]I just heard that Osaka subway is controlled by a fuzzy logic computer system. Can anybody verify this? --213.227.93.25 16:34, 13 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Why subway?
[edit]Why is this called a subway, when it's an el? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.155.130.147 (talk) 21:36, 2 January 2015 (UTC)
(Yes, I know I'm necro-posting here, but it warrants an explanation.) Apart from the eastern and western extremes of the Chuo Line and the northern reaches of the Midosuji Line, the vast majority is underground. (The New Tram is a people-mover.) Anyhow, it's now irrelevant as of yesterday, when the network was officially privatized and rebranded as Osaka Metro. --Julian Grybowski (talk) 16:06, 2 April 2018 (UTC)
Split into 2+ articles?
[edit]Should the subway network itself and the operating entity be split into two separate pages, like with the Toei subway for Tokyo? Osaka Metro runs the subway (including the New Tram, which is considered part of the network in official material and should be reflected in the article) as well as the Imazato Liner BRT lines, so the two are not really synonymous with each other in the way Tokyo Metro is.
In addition it also runs the former municipal bus system through a subsidiary, which itself should be a separate article. 2001:56A:F9DB:3800:C999:DAC6:3AE5:9851 (talk) 11:17, 7 January 2023 (UTC)
