I don't understand the purpose of this page. We have an article at Ravana. This just seems like a rival, unwikified article. RickK 08:50, Nov 20, 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: Interesting case. An IP with no other contributions has written an essay on the subject of an existing article, and placed it in the article's talk page. Is it a critique of the article or of the subject? Where do we draw the line? There is certainly material in here that should be merged into the article if true. Is someone willing to refactor this talk page to concentrate the useful material? No vote as yet. Andrewa 10:31, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Or as a separate page, with a pointer to it from Ravana. Anthony Appleyard 11:19, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Delete. Talk pages are to discuss the article, not for original research or essays. Mikkalai 22:57, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC).
- Why not just say: blank it from the Talk page with a note that says, "look at the history for date X if you want to see the long essay someone wrote about this"? I've done that with a few whackjobs who have posted long texts to Talk pages that are of little to no use. Other than that, just Archive it or something along those lines. I'm not sure this is really a VfD issue. --Fastfission 23:01, 20 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, definately not appropriate for a talk page, but just blank it and get on with life. --fvw* 06:19, 2004 Nov 21 (UTC)
- ARCHIVE the talk page. Please follow standard wikipedia procedure for OT or overlong talk pages, rather than using Vfd as your personal clearing-house for everything. If there is useful information in here, I'm sure future editors will appreciate it if it is accessible. In fact, I suggest you archive or refactor any talk page rather than listing it here. See Wikipedia:Refactoring. The Steve 10:57, Nov 21, 2004 (UTC)
- I concur with User:Thesteve that this should be archived and linked to from the talk page, no reason to delete any more than typical talk. -- Jmabel | Talk
- Probably would have just been easier to blank or archive or whatever, but as long as it's here, let's go ahead and remove it from the visible history as well. Delete. - RedWordSmith 23:25, Nov 25, 2004 (UTC)
