I was born in Rochester, Monroe County, New York in 1972 to a standard white middle-class suburban family. I have one older brother who is a photographer and my baby boomer parents own a small janitorial company. I attended Purdue University from '90-'94 and graduated with a B.S. in Biology. After college, my first job was in Lake Placid, New York at the W. Alton Jones Cell Science Center, after that I moved to Chicago, Illinois and worked at Northwestern University. I currently live outside Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and work for Wyeth.

I am married and have a cat (mine) and a dog (hers).

I play guitar like a hack, but use it as a way to act out adolescent fantasies of being Jimi Hendrix, Neil Young, and Stevie Ray Vaughan. My tastes have matured since my teens to include John Prine, Nick Drake, Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash and David Bowie, but my talent at imitating them has not.
