– The ngram here indicates a higher appearance of "Grand theft auto" compared to "Motor vehicle theft". If a viewer wants to see the article about the game, we could put a hatnote on the article "Grand theft auto" after it is moved. Sound good? Wikiexplorationandhelping (talk) 23:27, 29 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose -- no it doesn't sound good. One phrase refers to the broad topic area, the other is a referencing an associated criminal/legal term used only in some regions. These are not equivalent or interchangeable terms, and cannot be compared numerically in the way you are attempting - especially since your search results are corrupted by the popular video game. -- Netoholic @ 01:03, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
- Oppose. Is there evidence that this article would actually be the primary topic for the phrase "Grand theft auto" when compared to the popular Grand Theft Auto video game series? - Oppose per reasoning of other and even though this is currently a US-centric article. It should become a worldview article, per the top note, in which case "Grand theft auto" would not be suitable at all once expanded. ww2censor (talk) 09:46, 30 May 2023 (UTC)
