Talk:Dragon Warrior (video game)
Appearance
- Although this article is about Dragon Quest, it actually is about the US release of Dragon Warrior. The translations are inaccurate for that reason. dragonlord
- Yeah. I moved the page from Dragon Warrior I to maintain some level of consistency throughout the series, but never got around to editing the page to correctly reflect the change. Ideally, we should pick one set of names and stick with it throughout, and probably add a new section outlining the changes. Seancdaug 19:18, Jan 24, 2005 (UTC)
- The title of this article reflects its entry on categories. Right now the names are as follows: Dragon Quest (video game), Dragon Quest II, Dragon Quest III, Dragon Quest IV. See it here. Dragon Quest I would look nicer on all the categories. Dragon Warrior is just a North American name, and only then for the first 4 titles. Redirects for Dragon Warrior variations could be added for easy searching. Maybe add a blip on top of each Dragon Warrior game that says "This game was released as Dragon Warrior X in North America." --Greyhawk0
- I think it's a mistake to refer to a game by a title it wasn't released under, and this game has never been released under the title Dragon Warrior I (or Dragon Quest I, for that matter). A paranthetical note is pretty much the standard way to distinguish individual game entries from series overview entries (see also Final Fantasy (video game), Castlevania (video game), and Mega Man (NES)). I think it's reasonable to keep all the games under the "Dragon Quest" name, since the "Dragon Warrior" name has apparently been retired even in North America, but I do feel we should maintain one and only one entry for each game, even if it means that the category listing doesn't look as pretty as we'd like. – Seancdaug 04:19, 8 October 2005 (UTC)

Screenshot
[edit]I think using a screenshot of a remake is a mistake. I strongly suggest you use a screenshot from the famicom/Nes original version for historical reasons. Bragador 20:50, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
- How about one screenshot from each of the versions to show the differences between them? And perhaps one of the battle screen, as well. Kouban 00:24, 13 February 2006 (UTC)
- Good idea, I like that. Bragador 21:29, 23 February 2006 (UTC)
Title needs to be changed
[edit]This article needs to be redirected to "Dragon Warrior (video game)" Definitely should not be entitled as "Dragon Quest (video game)" if it is an article about the North American release.
