Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/New Age music
Appearance
The article is an example of laziness, or plagiarism. Choose a word. After writing a unique introduction of several sentences, whoever edited further copy/pasted from New Age. Since New Age is now a general category on wiki(at last)I would like this article deleted because it says nothing new and only exists to support someone's preference yet does not explain anything new previously mentioned from the original article! People come here 3 years later and haven't enough intelligence to write something without cut and paste ripoffs? I am ashamed of this article and more ashamed it still exists. - Delete, although perhaps find a way to integrate that opening sentence into the original article. -- Grunt 22:56, 2004 Jun 17 (UTC)
- Delete, I agree with BF. --Marlowe 23:04, Jun 17, 2004 (UTC)
- Surely we need an article on New Age music? Improve, surely! Mark Richards 01:39, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC)
- Merge new info into New age, and set up as a redirect to New age#Music -- siroxo 02:34, Jun 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, but expand, and make section in New Age a summary of the content here. --Lexor|Talk 03:17, 18 Jun 2004 (UTC). It's common practice to expand out a long section in an article to a daughter article, that said, I agree that there shouldn't be as much duplication as there is (I didn't create the original article): I said in the talk page:
- I did not create New Age music, I merely copyedited (check the history) and haven't looked at the parent New Age article itself. However, it is a good practice to include a two or so paragraph summary of an article in the parent article with a Main article: link to the daughter article which is a longer extension of that summary, which will often include the initial summary from the parent article, e.g. Simulation and Computer simulation. In general that's warranted when it is likely that the daughter article will be expanded with additional information beyond what would be wanted in the parent article, which would probably be the case with New Age music.
- Keep, if the article can be expanded with new information, rather than the copy/paste that's here. Otherwise, re-direct to new age. Joyous 05:56, Jun 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep, move to cleanup. — Lady Lysine Ikinsile 21:42, Jun 18, 2004 (UTC)
