Was Bairbre de Brún or Mary Lou McDonald the first elected MEP? Each page is claiming they were - is there any way of determining which takes precedent in any seniority rankings? Timrollpickering 23:19, 30 Sep 2004 (UTC)
I seem to remember that the UK European elections were held on the day before those in the Republic of Ireland, so that might have something to do with it. Or it could be that Bairbre was the firs elected in NI and Mary Lou was the first in the Republic, although Sinn Fein don't usually recognise such distinctions!
