Rename page
[edit]- The following is a closed discussion of the proposal. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the proposal was move.
Rename: Elliot Lake, Ontario → Elliot Lake
Per WP:CANSTYLE, the article about the city should be at the undisambiguated name. All online references using this term refer to, or are related to, the city. The undisambiguated title currently redirects to the city. There is also an Elliot Lake Airport in BC, but it's existence shouldn't prevent this page move. Mindmatrix 19:53, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Support as nominator. Mindmatrix 19:53, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Support per CANSTYLE, cities take precedence over airports. -Royalguard11(T·R!) 21:01, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
- Support per CANSTYLE DigitalC (talk) 03:25, 24 June 2008 (UTC).
- Support as per the naming convention. Since the airport, were it ever to become subject of its own article, is not a candidate to ever to be moved to the plain Elliot Lake title, it does not give rise to a need for disambiguation. A hatnote would suffice. Skeezix1000 (talk) 13:23, 24 June 2008 (UTC)
