Suggestions for page
[edit]- Separate page for refinery
- Seperate page for cinema fire
Also is there a definite death total for the Cinema Rex blaze? I've seen estimates from 377 to "over 400" to one estimate of 470.
- I've created a page on The Cinema Rex Fire. We can move the content from here into that article but I'd like to see some references to buttress the statements being made here. --QajarCoffee 00:16, 31 August 2006 (UTC)
- I don't know that combining the two pages is a good idea. Should the "Bloody Sunday" entry be merged with Derry? I think it's ok to reference between them, but merging is too much.
I agree. Cinema Rex was a trajedy. Having a separate page would be a better idea. -Sia
"The world's highest temperature ever recorded" Sorry but this needs to be verified. Is there any source that confirm this bold statement? It exceeds the record by almost 20 degrees celsius. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 83.253.24.186 (talk) 20:47, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
Population?
[edit]This page states that the population of Abadan is 1,291,690. Do we have some other source for 1005 figures? — Asbestos | Talk 13:26, 30 Mar 2005 (UTC)
This is just an estimate. Perhaps they extrapulated from 400k before 1980, till now would reach 1.2M. We know the population is ot that much. -Sia
Changed the trivia.
[edit]I deleted these entries:
- Kamran Delan is also an Abadan native.
Requested move
[edit]I'd like the Abadan page moved to Abadan, Iran in order to convert Abadan into a disambiguation page. Abadan can refer to:-
- Abadan, Iran
- Abadan, Turkmenistan
- Abadan (film), a film made in Iran in 2003
- MT Abadan, a ship
Hence the reason for the requested move. The new destination already is currently a redirect, with many links under that name. Mjroots (talk) 17:10, 29 December 2008 (UTC)
????
[edit]The geographer Marcian also renders the name "Apphadana" and "Estoban Mendez" in his writings
'Apphadana" I can believe. But "Estoban Mendez" seems like a strange name for a fourth-century geographer to be using. Figure it's vandalism? 65.213.77.129 (talk) 18:00, 23 July 2009 (UTC)

hi, i have just created the above list article, and removed the people who were listed at the notable people section of Abadan, Iran (they all appear in the above article), as it was incomplete but to have included all the people from the Abadan people category would have imbalanced the article. hope this is okay.
