"Beyond the Badge"

[edit]

The reference for this is over a year old. At this point I don't think we should reference the proposed show unless it is picked up for some non-trivial distribution. Mangoe 15:36, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ICC Verb Tense

[edit]

Since a present future continuous tense is used (to flow with the tense used previously in the article), I consider "will" to be correct along with inclusion of the "if [the highway] is completed" condition at the end. Since a differing belief remains, I'm applying an alternative condition statement. Adavidb 00:05, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Starting Gate

[edit]

Who deleted the reference to The Starting Gate bar and Lounge? Its a staple of laurel and has been around at least 45 years. It must have a place in here. Stefanem20904 02:23, 7 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

As stated in the edit summary, the claims made about the bar/lounge were not sourced and remain unverified. Please see Wikipedia's attribution policy. Starting Gate may be worthy of inclusion here, though proper attribution is required. --Adavidb 02:52, 7 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Taxi Driver

[edit]

The town in the movie taxi driver is based on Laurel —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.4.149.21 (talk) 19:45, 4 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

One source states only that the movie was inspired by Arthur Bremer's story. Another source mentions that the movie's Travis Bickle character, a New York taxi driver, was based on Bremer. I found nothing about a town in the movie being based on Laurel, however. —Adavidb 11:50, 6 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Gold's Gym location

[edit]

The paragraph in the 21st century section regarding the September 11 hijackers was recently changed to state that the Gold's Gym they used was in Greenbelt. The two sources for the paragraph state it was "in Laurel, Maryland" and "in a nearby shopping mall", respectively. If the Greenbelt location was used, do we have a matching source citation? This info should be verifiable. —ADavidB 13:54, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ref #19 Newsday 4/4/02 lists Greenbelt as the location of the Gold's Gym. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 204.108.8.5 (talkcontribs) 18:07, 12 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Given the conflict in this particular information, both possibilities will be included in the article (in accordance with WP:SOURCES). —ADavidB 03:00, 13 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]
