Talk:Never Never Land
Appearance
Article listed on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion Apr 18 to Apr 24 2004, kept per consensus. Discussion:
Two reasons to get rid of this: (1) Content is factually incorrect (except in the most superficial sense), and (2) Title should be capitalised as it is a fictional place. Deb 11:33, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- How about an edit and rename? Mat-C 13:33, 18 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Possibly a valid topic for an article, but delete if not improved. Current content is factually incorrect. Exploding Boy 14:18, Apr 18, 2004 (UTC)
- Fixed it. Should be kept now. Snowspinner 16:28, Apr 18, 2004 (UTC)
- The existance of this page might even be my fault, as I deleted its imprecise content from the Neverland article. Someone must have gone and created this as a reaction. I've got mixed feelings about it and as I am involved, so I'd like to vote neutral - and at the same time point out that it seems to be a dicdef. Pteron 04:03, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- Well the current version is a slight improvement, but it's still not much of an article. Can it ever be expanded further? And aside from the capitalization problem, is "Never Never Land" even the correct spelling? I still say delete. Exploding Boy 08:47, Apr 19, 2004 (UTC)
- Comment: Don't really care. It's not much of an article IMO either, bordering on dicdef. The claim that it is a common incorrect spelling of Neverland is true but not of great interest IMO, it could be adequately handled by a redirect. But I doubt whether even that is justified, people who are looking for Neverland will search for Peter Pan or Wendy or Captain Hook and find the correct name. So I'm happy to delete. But, on the other hand, I think we have many, many articles that are far, far worse! It does no damage to keep IMO. Andrewa 14:23, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)
- I think that a redirect to Neverland is almost appropriate, but not quite - it is also a colloquialism that's used actively in place - c.f. Metallica's "Enter Sandman" and a lot of things. Never Never Land does seem to be used in terms of sleep and dying and not Neverland. Snowspinner 15:08, 19 Apr 2004 (UTC)

- Dicdeffy, stubby and generally uninteresting. - DELETE - MGM 20:25, Apr 22, 2004 (UTC)
- Keep. The fictional place was called Never Never Land and not "Neverland". Do not redirect. 80.255 00:47, 24 Apr 2004 (UTC)
End discussion
I would just like to point out that, no matter how big it makes you sound, dicdeffy is certainly not a word that appears in my, or several others' dictionaries
