Don't know how to put this in right, or to change it right, but Metlakla doesn't do daylight savings time, its also a dry community-Jason —Preceding unsigned comment added by 206.223.206.197 (talk) 09:46, 21 May 2008 (UTC)
Hi there, I usually don't edit articles about which I know nothing at all, but I figure that if you know it's a dry community you are probably right about the time zone, so I took that out for you. I wasn't sure where to note that it's a dry community so I did not make that entry. What section should it go in? Alternately, I am willing to help someone else do this if they think it should be in there and don't know how to make that happen. Wondering how to edit this U.S. City Entry?
The WikiProject U.S. Cities standards might help.
The National Archives Project has a huge number of images on this topic
[edit]I just wanted to point this out to anyone who may be interested in using them for something, perhaps to expand this page or for a local history project. Most of them were taken in 1917 by a Sir Henry Wellcome, who seems to have liked the place. Or had a new camera :)
National Archives pictures are free to use on Wikipedia or elsewhere, since they belong to the US government. Some of them are in a gallery here:
http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Metlakahtla,_Alaska
I do not remember which of the NARA batches they were in, but if you search the site commons.wikimedia.org for Henry Wellcome you will find literally hundreds of photos that have not yet been sorted.
Hope that helps someone. Please feel free to ask me a question on my talk page if you are interested but not sure how to proceed. Elinruby (talk) 09:22, 10 November 2011 (UTC)
